How it started
I believed my daughter’s first runway show was at Shanghai Fashion Week when she was 5 years old for an Italian Girls clothing brand called I Pinco Pallino. However I forgot it was actually for some kind of baby’s skin cream. It was all very weird, but most I remember was that she was only 4 years old. She was also nervous but they had paired with older boy. This older boy was so kind. He really helped her learn her cues and her practice marks.
Another way to build confidence
And from that moment she used it as a stepping stone for her to work several seasons of runway shows during Shanghai Fashion Week. Both her and her brother have also gone to London and Riga Fashion Week. Through my own personal experience I even held a kids show for FabIndia when we lived in India.
How’s it going
So a great way for her to have fun in Thailand was to participate in this LOL Surprise fashion show. If you think that this is cheesy, it may be. If you think that it’s sort of borderline beauty pageant, maybe I would agree with you. However it gives my kids self-confidence.
What 4 year old can walk with poise and pride down a runway? All of them!
It’s a skill to represent yourself in the best way possible which many adults even lack. So there is definitely value in these kinds of activities.
