In an earlier post I discussed the some basic content creating tips, I had several readers ask me questions. I thought it would be great content for me to elaborate. In a step by step process.
How it can become your job
Documentation of your life and pursuits on social media is so hot right now. Sadly much of it can be perceived as real but so much is fake these days. I often look at other creators and wonder wow their life is so perfect. So I think that’s my first question to ask yourself. Would you like to approach this as something aspirational or show everything the good, bad, & ugly? You have to realize once you’ve chosen your style this will greatly affect your target audience.
quantity versus quality
Now to be a successful content creator, you must produce. The thing is for endorsements you need to post every day. It’s lots of volume, and a big problem is that sometimes it begins to look like the same old thing. It becomes very stale, so how does one come up with new ideas all the time?
what kind of influencer are you?
Now you have to decide. I am of those people that think that you can’t promote just any products. I mean I know people definitely do but you have to also be sort of picky. That’s the thing you need to contemplate the image you want to represent. Then you sorta have to stick with it. I find that the most followed content creators can’t do everything. In order to have genuine following you must appeal to perhaps only 2-3 target audiences.
Finding your niche
I would say the best way for someone to decide your audience is look at your camera roll in your phone. Focus on the photos you are mostly taking. If you are genuinely interested in the subjects then you are least likely to have trouble with creating content. Pick what your role as the narrator of your blog is? I see a lot of people successful at content for moms. Also many creators love food and travel which I actually think are good concentrations. However the market is oversaturated. So my advice is pick a role like a mom that can from time to time focus on food and travel if you have interest in it.
be authentic
However remember my first question do you want to be aspirational or show all sides of life? Will you post every day even if you have nothing to really post about? I feel by keeping true to yourself you will easily new ideas and a strong following. If you promote things you would never use in real life your audience may not trust you. Since your own image is so important in influencing make sure you take the right first steps in deciding your market.
