Minicourse Content Creating Part 2

deciding on your media

Now you have to decide how you’re going to do this. There are several different platforms that people can go on, but I recommend that you do at least two. If your doing a blog, you should also do Instagram. I feel like Twitter is not relevant. Only because it doesn’t really allow you to post the photos. Creating content involves posting photos. It’s a big component of it, as you need to show visually what your words are trying to convey.

Name yourself

Determine your name. See if your name is available on Instagram and reserve it. Then write down all possible hashtags that you can tag with your site name. This is for your marketing, you should do some research into this. Go look at a blog or person admire, look at their general hashtags. Also try to come with a unique tag for instance ours is #weareambassadorkids. This will be a good way to track your foot print. By putting your special hashtag in Instagram you will be easily able to pull up any post associated with your social media profile.

Park it!

I first searched for my domain name on a company called godaddy.com. Usually it works quite well, but this time I had some difficulties. I didn’t want to do my website hosting through Godaddy. I think that although they are synonymous with domain name buying I don’t list their capabilities. So it took me forever to get authorization back from godaddy.com to use the name I bought with another web hosting company. That’s why in the future I realized I should do this entire process with my webhosting provider. This is the reason, why I recommend starting first with your Instagram handle then getting a website. The creation of your blog will take some time and you can start your content creating with Instagram before your blog.

LOGO

A logo if you can actually have somebody design original for you, then that’s great! You can ignore this next paragraph. If you were like me then I tell you my secret. All of my graphic design is original yet amazingly cost effective.

Canva

I have spoken about Canva before and I can’t praise it enough. Canva is something I use almost every day. For a monthly fee you can use all its design functions for creating so many things! There are many options for creating logos through Canva. It’s so easy to use, although I recommend you use it on your computer versus phone. I would say try to make it on Canva first.

Creative Market

I will admit to you I bought many of my graphics on Creative Market. Since the vendors on Creative Market are professionals in their fields, I find it adds something a little more high end to this blog. I also bought my blog layout from them. Yes, I could have gone with a free template however I just didn’t want to share the overall appearance of my blog with other blogs.

FIVERR

Finally the most important is Fiverr. I highly recommend Fiverr, because since I have been buying products that are not specifically made for me. I use Fiverr to personalize all the graphics on my blog for a low price. Fiverr is a database of all kinds of creators all over the earth that can take contracting jobs on your behalf. If you want something more personal and unique this the place to go!

Always a work in progress

I’m gonna tell you something you need to hear. Everything is a learning curve. Basically you find out so many things you like and don’t like along the way. Only you can decide overall feel of your brand. It takes a lot of trial and error. However it can be done in a way that’s cost effective. It’s possible for a single person with minimal investment to show a good product. I know you can do it too!
