before i begin
All the recommendations I give to you I’m not getting paid for it. I wish I could actually get a financial kickback but alas I guess I can’t influence anyone enough. These are only my opinions and it came with a lot of trial and error on my part. So at least someone else can benefit from what I’m saying.
Setting up your website
Let’s talk about the blogs. What will be the approach of your blog? Your focus will determine a big part of the design of your blog. There are so many ways you can spend money on your website. I think though if you have a lot of time you can use that instead of money. There are many free blog templates from WordPress that you can use for free. They look professional. However, they are not as customizable. Also there is a big possibility the other blogs might look like your blog.
Using WordPress
There’s another company called WIX and I’ve also heard very good things about how easy it is to use. However as you progress as a blogger to even selling, Wix does not offer as many options as using WordPress. So if you want to stick with just blogging then Wix may be your easiest solution. If you want room to grow then go directly to WordPress.
My Secret shhh!
Did I tell you had a monogram wedding shower? I love customization! Do you know why? By making something especially for you it can make the whole presentation more professional looking. I bought this blog template from Creative Market, from a company called PixelGrade. These are graphic designers that will sell you their pre-made templates then you can customize it. I also bought super cute graphics from other vendors on Creative Market. All to customize my look as much as possible.
Installation
Typically, personal website design and build out can be free or anywhere up to two thousand dollars. I feel like if your single lone entrepreneur that wants to have this presence the investment that you put out there can be a lot. So if you are trying to save your money and you want to get this off the ground then listen here. Much of this setup involves heavy investment. Many of us don’t have that capital in the beginning especially. My solution was to separately buy all the components. Then I hired a tech guy off Fiverr to install everything on my Bluehost account. I saved a ton of money by doing this.
