WHat I should have studied
Along the way, I’m just a mom trying to learn as we go. I went to university and have my degree plus several certifications… yet it’s nothing pertaining to what I am doing now.
My Kids are my IT department
I find that with technology, I tend to be very slow. Ok not slow, basically useless. This generation knows better how to manoeuvre through screens almost innately. It’s amazing, and I can’t help but to feel like dinosaur when I ask my kids for help. I am hopeless sometimes.
ANother life hack
However recently I have found there are apps out there that make life much easier for this old lady. As I said before I don’t have formal training in anything I’m doing now. I certainly wish I went to Art School but that seems like a pipedream.
I can’t live without Lightroom
As I have mentioned before I couldn’t live without Lightroom. It’s my go to APP for all my photo editing. Occasionally I will use Photoshop but honestly I don’t like to edit photos too much. My job is to fix my mistakes and enhance the existing conditions of my photos.
Canva saves the day
The best and easy way to design without any knowledge of graphic design is Canva. My brother is a graphic designer who studied at Parson’s School of Design and graduated from School of Visual Arts in NYC. I used to beg him for help, and he’s got 2 kids too. That’s how I found about Canva from graphic designers. I was bothering to many people. So I needed to start doing for myself. It wasn’t easy but by learning as I go, I hope I’m improving.
So handy
Canva allows me to do so many things from even my phone. Whenever I have extra time like on the school run or waiting at the doctor’s office, I use it. I guarantee that you will love the professional look it adds to all your social media.
