come fly me
Traveling with kids on long-haul flights can be a daunting task. However, with a little bit of preparation, it can be a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone.
10 tips
Here are 10 tips that I follow when traveling with my kids:
- Let your kids prepare their own carry-on bags: It gives them a sense of responsibility and control over their belongings. Encourage them to pack their favourite books, toys, and games that will keep them entertained during the flight.
- Have a set of pajamas, underwear, and socks ready: In case your suitcases get lost, it’s always good to have a change of clothes on hand.
- Bring headphones that fit their ears: Make sure your kids have headphones that fit their ears comfortably, so they can enjoy the inflight entertainment.
- Pack plenty of snacks: Bring plenty of snacks to keep your kids fueled throughout the flight. Avoid salty snacks, as they can dehydrate you.
- Download favorite shows before takeoff: Download your kids’ favorite shows before takeoff, so they can watch them offline during the flight.
- Make sure your devices are charged: Bring charging cables to keep your devices charged throughout the flight. It’s always a good idea to have a power bank handy.
- Dress comfortably: If you’re flying on a budget airline, make sure you wear comfortable and cozy clothes or bring a blanket to keep you warm.
- Bring sanitizing wipes: Airplanes can be a breeding ground for germs. Bring sanitizing wipes to clean dirty surfaces, like tray tables and armrests.
- Don’t forget to order kid meal: Airline food can be dodgy if your kid is a picky eater, then order them kid meals before your flight.
- Adjust to jet lag: Bring gummy melatonin or use Dramamine, which not only helps with motion sickness but also makes you drowsy, to adjust to jet lag.
