MINITORIAL MALLRATS

finding inspo

Inspiration is always hard.  Much of it has to do with location and time of year.  I think I already complained about it but winter’s in Poland are rough.  It’s cold and sun sets as early as 3.30PM.  So you have to be inventive and quirky with photography.  Often I look to pop culture and social media for inspiration.  Our next Minitorial was a vibe that we have all been feeling.

#QUARANTINELIFE

Have you ever thought you be so sad that you couldn’t to even go to the mall? This is our quarantine life. I was sure that last lockdown would be our last. We took these last pictures in January during New Year’s lockdown.  During the day all the stores were closed and everything was dark.  Since the stores were closed the lighting at the mall was off it made it look like we were super cool kids running around the mall late at night.

FUN IN THE MUNDANE

The kids had fun putting together this story.  We got some inspiration from Stranger Things.  That showed the characters in more 80s retro scenes.  We were lucky to find a cool photobooth still on and actually taking photos.  The few things that were actually open was KFC!  So the kids loved hanging out eating junk food.  They road escalators up and down for fun over and over.  We did realize there was security and we had to avoid the mall cop. So even though there was absolutely nothing to do the kids had a great time shooting this.  I hope you like it.

CREATIVE LOCKDOWN

This is Minitorial Jelly Alligators Gold Rush SS 2021 and our little take on it called Mallrats.  We hope you get this California vibe and enjoy watching the kids pretend they are sneaking around on a late night after the mall closes.   Surprisingly the quarantine was a big part of our inspiration.
