Missing in action
So I have been MIA and the reason is we have finally moved into our apartment that we will be living in Singapore for at the moment 2 years. It’s been a tragedy of epic proportions, actually it’s not that bad but some of our container was ruined.
Most helpful hint
My best moving advice, always instruct the movers to pack boxes with lots of silica gel. What’s silica gel? It’s normally those packets of desiccants, you see sometime in packed foods. They are used to absorb humidity.
Moving across the world
In all of our international moves we have had usually a container and half full of boxes. So we had about sixty feet container coming from Poland to Singapore floating through hottest conditions on water. Due to shipping delays it was five months on a boat. Although we have packers have copious amounts of silica gel. When we received the shipment there was twenty percent mould, so what to do in this situation.
Irreplaceable THings
So I’m not a going to lie I was very upset. Mostly because there are things that can’t be replaced. These are things that are just sentimental, for that you should keep things in storage in your home country. Sure you can write things off for insurance but sometimes replacing these items is almost impossible.
THE SILENT KILLER
So how much mould is too much mould? I remember as a kid no one cared. I don’t even want to go there because maybe that’s why I have migraines. There are so many unknown dangers, supposedly it’s a silent killer. You can’t even recognize it sometimes cuz it looks like some dirt.
