JUDGY

Americans although many talk about kindness, but there always seems a need to judge. Yet I wonder a culture that stresses inner beauty and health seems to have a very toxic culture with appearance. Besides our country also the most physically unhealthy in the world.

I know what your thinking

I find that many people simply do not like modelling but child modelling is considered much worse. You get people thinking you are Patsy Ramsey. People think you are living your life out through your gorgeous child. Sadly these ideas are outdated.

where is it coming from

I grew up with a Korean mother who’s family loved pretty things. Who many people considered very pretty. For me beauty had no limitations, and it certainly had nothing to do with brains. You can be smart and beautiful. I also see much more kindness and acceptance in my daughter, than the kids who are visibly insecure with who they are.

BKIF

So when in Bangkok, my daughter participated in Bangkok Kids International Fashion Show. The time and diligence it took to pull this off was out of this world. Many of our friends who participated are working in entertainment industry. I feel in ways perhaps I do not agree with the stress on beauty. However, at least my daughter has a direction to do what she really loves. Like all things, we should let them explore it.
