i LOVE gLAMPING

the great outdoors

Communing with nature, now some people look at the great doors and think wow how relaxing how is this. And then we have the others… Where if you suggest for a vacation someone to sleep outside.  Some people may literally have a tantrum, I know from personal experience from my own mother.

old days

And she does have a point, when is being outside and doing things that you could normally do every day become so special?  It only reinforces we are so far removed from slow life, nature and Wi-Fi!   A way for those with money to forget that they now have enough money to reminisce about the old days.

so close

That’s  why I love Glamping.  It combines old with new! For half term break we went to Indonesia. Before you think I’m all fancy, it’s a 1 hour Ferry ride from Singapore.

my childhood

I have to admit, I don’t really like camping. We went with my parents as kids, I just remember my mom complaining a lot. We didn’t even barbecue, instead my mom made ramen to eat for dinner. So there weren’t too many fond memories. Another sad memory was when my mom and I went to Girl Scouts Camp, my mom brought a curling iron.

my mom

My mom’s generation really didn’t like the idea of staying outside and she explained it very easily.   She didn’t understand why we had to sleep outside when we actually have a house. During vacation was the last thing she wanted to rid was a bike!

camping is for everyone

However now I see more camping stores in Seoul than ever before! Now it’s so different from when I was little kid, I think that I’ve noticed a significant change with countries experienced economic prosperity.  It’s interesting how societies modernize people try to get back to their roots. But I could definitely do glamping again, I think even my mom would like it!
