Whole Lotte World

Hey everyone! So, I recently had the coolest experience ever by visiting Seoul’s Lotte World! 🎉 Let me tell you all about it!

First off, something I found really interesting was that it’s a tradition for many kids here to rent school uniforms before going to the park. The reason? Well, apparently, a lot of Kdrama stories are filmed at Lotte World! How cool is that? It’s like stepping into a real-life Kdrama set! 📺

But I have to admit, I had mixed feelings about this whole school uniform thing. In Western culture, the depiction of schoolgirl uniforms can be a sensitive issue. It’s often associated with various controversies and debates. So, when I saw kids dressed in school uniforms, it made me question whether it was appropriate or not.

Then, it hit me – I was placing my Western perspective on an Asian tradition. It’s essential to realize that cultural norms and perceptions differ from one place to another. What might raise eyebrows in the West may not have the same effect in Asia. I had to learn to be more open-minded and appreciate the unique customs and traditions of the places I visit.

Speaking of being open-minded, there was another instance that surprised me during my time at Lotte World. I saw kids engaging in pole dancing, which is quite shocking in Western culture. But here’s the thing, it’s important not to judge. What may seem unusual to me could be a perfectly normal activity in their culture.

So, my takeaway from this incredible experience is to be in the moment, embrace diversity, and try not to judge based on my preconceived notions. Every culture has its own values and practices, and it’s crucial to respect and understand them. After all, that’s what makes traveling so enriching and mind-opening! So, let’s all celebrate the differences and enjoy the wonders that this world has to offer! 🌏💕
