kpop bootCamp

on the condition that

In spring of this year, my daughter found out about a 10 day intensive Kpop BOOTCAMP in December by The Academy Australia. I told her if she practiced everyday, that we would support her in attending this winter in Paju.

more about paju

The facility where the camp is held is a copy of an American University.I actually knew several people who had modeling jobs there before for Korean brands wanting American collegiate look. Basically it’s Korea’s go to spot for pretending you are in the USA. Several KPOP videos have been filmed there. Now if y’all also don’t know Paju, it’s where the DMZ is located. It’s literally like 20 miles to North Korea.

life lessons

Orly was the youngest person at the camp. I was very worried about her not having me around. Since she was around older teens I wanted her to look neat and appear professional. So I showed her how to style her hair, we put together a skincare regime, and I coordinated outfits for her to wear. And all of it paid off, she had the best time and I’m relieved. This experience has given me faith and trust in her becoming a teen

growing up

It’s a real juggling act – being the proud mom cheering from the sidelines and the one wiping away the occasional homesick tears. But seeing her bravery, even at this tender age, is nothing short of amazing. Here’s to my Orly, conquering bootcamp!
